Who would have thought that the thrash metal made good household in Brazil? Reviolence is a Brazilian group formed since 2003, realize at once his(her, its) first EP " In Pieces ", at the end of two years, he will be more downloaded of 2 000 times by the Internet users, because indeed the group gave him(it) via its web site. After a change of line-up the group returns there strength with a new singer Carlos Furtado (ex--Mass Illusion), enters in studio in July, 2007 to give a succession to "In Pieces". They will deliver to this new entitled EP "Violent Phoenix".
"Violent Phoenix" is an EP consisted of 4 titles which boosts (sends a reminder) the debate between the good and the evil, and the human beings not learned step which quoted (esteemed) to choose. Let us go into the heart of the matter. Reviolence proposes typical Thrash metal the 80s, influenced by the big European names such Kreator for not quoted as them; let us not forget for all that the groups such: Maiden, Judas Priest.
Because indeed the group proposes music very square where from we find solos really made a success and very inspired by the groups of heavy metal aforesaid. The eponymic title of this album shows us directly what makes the group, what it is capable of making and what it makes of better today; except the intro which looks like closely the rhythmic of "Dead Skin Mask" of Slayer. The voice of Carlos seems to us slightly set back from the music and lack of power which is due to the production of this disk; but attention this is not less bad there even on the contrary and will still win in power in the future years! "Abduction" when to him shows us highly-rated speed sound with its intro filled(performed) with solos, a tune sticker where from the voice(vote) of Carlos me reminder slightly, I say very slightly that of one of the singers of Annihilator. Moreover the group has to envy nothing at the level of riffs thrashy Annihilator, Slayer and co '. Small break of 40 seconds with this instrumental of the name of "the annunciation" which looks like of intro of the title following by proposing a solo assisted by a drums which beats(emphasizes). This intro ended plunges us in succession into the last title of Violent Phoenix " about angel and demons " which is surmount most thrash, the most unhealthy, filled by so there of solos very short in background. There is nothing to say about the other one except than Chico Crestana and Guilherme Spilack have nothing in envied Mike Pettrozza and Jeff Waters. This last title is even strewed to guitar dry almost flamenco which would have been able to be really missed but it is not the case.
In the end(final), you have him(it) included surement, Reviolence thanks to its new EP Violent Phoenix is going to surprise with it more with one in thrash and of heavy, he will put everybody all right on the quality of these 4 proposed fragments which in deserves him(it) to have a correct production! While wait for labels to sign a group which has of the potential to take place in the pillars of the (genre) in South America and in Europe in the future years! I hope for the best for this group, it deserves him(it)!
