VIOLENT PHOENIX (reviolence)
mark: 4/5
Thrash! Thrash! Thrash! is pronounced madly and filled with a piercing feeling.I have just received an envelope. In it there is 4 track EP for reviewing: "Violent Phoenix" by the band Reviolence. Judging from the stamp, this package has come a long way, more precisely from Brazil. It has travelled thousands of miles for me to review it. Holy god of hell, metal really has no limits! And its thrash metal, one of my favorite styles. So I'm quite emotional about it.A harsh, hard, old school sound, as though it is coming out of old solid state amps. With "violent phoenix" and their thrash-speed metal, one immediately thinks of bands like Slayer or Sepultura in its début. What's more, there's that little gimmick on the guitar that comes back, gets you hooked, brands you with its mark. But they also deliver a bay area-style heavy thrash metal on «Abduction», the chorus of which has the impact of true metal anthem. With an undeniable old-school spirit, they have what it takes to create unforgettable catchy melodies that really get a grip on you.A little bonus for the solist, but not forgetting the others who give it all they've got. The guitarist is a little virtuoso and his fingers play with such speed that he may well have miniscule turbos on each of his knuckles! The only drawback: not enough tracks to listen to. As for their music: powerful, old-school and quite varied from one track to the next!
