Reviolence was formed in april 2003 by guitar players Sidney and Marcelo Ivanov and drummer Edson Graseffi (Panzer). They recorded their first EP 'In Pieces' in 2003 with many influences of thrash and heavy metal. This EP brought the band a lot of positive media attention, and got their name more established in the underground scene. The band got to record a song for a compilation cd 'Joining Forces' by German record company Hard Earn, in 2004. Some months later the band released the video for the song 'Zero of Me'. After some shows to promote their EP, Reviolence entered the studio to start recording their first cd. But in the middle of the recordings with a previous instable line up, the band stops it's activities for a year and a half. During this time drummer Edson Graseffi joins his old Panzer's bandmate Mauricio Cliff, together they start looking for musicians for a new line up. The new Reviolence is Carlos Furtado (vocals), Chico Crestana (guitars), Guilherme Spilack (guitars), Mauricio Cliff (bass) and drummer Edson, the only member from the original line up. Reviolence has just released their second EP 'Violent Phoenix', and are already working on their debut cd. But first let's get to the EP, which starts off with the song 'Violent Phoenix' in true classic thrash style, fast and aggressive yet still with a lot of melody in it, which is a good combination that works. Next song is 'Abduction', which is a lot slower and heavier, with some cool guitar riffs and solos in there. The song 'The Annunciation' is a 40 sec. Guitar instrumental that leads to final track 'About Angels And Demons' which is a heavy, melodic song in true thrash/heavy metal tradition. Not all original, but nevertheless great thrash, very well done by this skilled musicians, makes me wanna hear their debut album for sure
