Review by Robert from Metal Underground Webzine- Austria- February/2008- http://metalaustria.me.ohost.de/reviolence.htm

Nowadays there are more and more bands which uploaded their debut and/or their demo for the free. Everything what is free, does not have to be always unavoidably good? Except in the case of the band Reviolence. They uploaded a nice 4 track Ep which you can receive easily. In the year 2003 the band Panzer accumulated due to, this was the birth of the new band Reviolence. Sidney (Nervochaos) (guit) and Marcelo Ivanov (guit) meet the former drummer of this band Edson Graseffi. So the Brazilians coming from São Paulo and together they worked on their first Ep. The result could make hear oneself and/or see oneself and they received a lot of praise. Their video was produced by nobody smaller than Cláudio Tibérius who also worked with Panzer and Torture Squad to. During the graduation of the first Cd Edson met his old volume pal Mauricio Cliff (bass). During of the release of their first demo Reviolence had a very unstable line up, it did not look very good what affected the future of the band. Doggedly they searched for new members who has been found in the form of Carlos Furtado(voc), Chico Crestana (guit) and Guilherme Spilack (guit) also now. Immediately they went into the studio they wrote new songs for the upcoming Cd. The newest attack is called „Violent of Phoenix”. So the Ep is in my player and I will listen to them. The guys made a quite good production, what is not always with indigenous productions. The material sounds very well. The first track is called „Violent of Phoenix”. With a solo bass the Brazilians set off already once quite speedy through. The style direction of the band is to be described not very easy. Old Grave Digger mixes a little Slayer with Power Metal and I would say the sound like a little bit like the band Risk as well. That does not like sound ingeniously, however, for me it sounds very well and a good mixture between thrash and power metal. Particularly they change between speed rhythm and beautiful guitar melodies. It is a true hearing-pleasure and offers a very good change. The singer is as a mixture of Chris Boldenthal (Grave Digger), Frank Knight (X Wild) and Heinz Mikus (Risk), it is not like that, that he is a world famous singer. Nevertheless Carlos Furtado with security can convince and his voice fits onto the eye for the songs as a fist. The singer does not push the eardrums into high spheres before like one burst, but stays in an always beautifully rough way at the ground. At the beginning with „Abduciton" they serve as melodic guitar riff. This is a pleasure listen to it. Thrash rhythms again mixed with more melody. Particularly in case of that song Carlos sounds like as the small brother of Chris Boldenthal. The rhythm faction Guilherme Spilack, Chico Crestana and Mauricio Cliff plows honestly off and together with the drumer they spray a lot of charm and game joy. Here the boys wrote a true Power Metal song. For me personally the conversion of the numbers turned out quite well since the boys give a new touch to pure Powermetal numbers. Why the third song „The Annunciation" turned out so shortly only presumably knows the band itself. That one is presumably to be seen like this is the intro for the last song of the Ep which is called „About Angels and Demons". A further missile of Thrash/Power Metal released by Reviolence where the Brazilians go once again fully onto the Twelve. Unfortunately this is already the last piece of this Cd. Damned because the material of the domination does pleasure and mood on more. We can only hope for a complete release quite quickly. So I ordered myself during the waiting time listen to the “Violent Phoenix” Ep until then.

Upshot: Very good Thrash/Power Metal, that not unconditional is only for lovers of the style Power Metal. The guys can convince at all corners and ends and gave such a remarkable first signum of life in our degrees of latitude.
